Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist in direct patient care under the supervision of the RN and physician. The role covers phlebotomy, ECGs, oxygen needs and other delegated tasks in a fast-paced ED.

The ideal candidate holds BLS and an L- EMT license in Illinois, with a high school diploma or GED, and is committed to infection control, safety, and teamwork within a patient‑centered environment in Peoria.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (AHA)
• L-EMT license (IDPH)
• HS Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, provide indirect care supporting ED mission.
• Assist with phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG, and oxygen needs.
• Promote patient safety and infection control per policy.
• Assist with unit cleanliness, supply stocking and equipment maintenance.
• Support patient mobility, comfort, and basic daily activities.
• Document care and assist with procedures as directed.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Participation in committees and meetings as required.
