Job summary

Best Upon Request is seeking an ED Patient Concierge to support emergency department patients, families, and guests from arrival through discharge. This on-site role involves proactive rounding, non-clinical care, and close collaboration with the care team to ease stress and enhance patient experience.

Qualifications

• Personal Qualities — servant-hearted, compassionate, approachable, and humble, with poise and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills — detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication; creative, curious listener who manages multiple requests and shifting priorities; multilingual fluency preferred.
• Experience — at least 1 year in fast-paced customer service; healthcare or hospitality experience a plus; proficient in Microsoft Office and POS platforms with strong data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Arrival & Waiting Room — welcome and round on patients and guests, provide wayfinding, manage expectations.
• Admission Assistance — relocate vehicles, retrieve items, unload and deliver belongings, manage valuables.
• Bedside Care & Comfort — conduct welcome visits, respond to call lights, provide blankets, water, meals, charging devices, assist with notary services and patient portal setup.
• Advocacy & Communication — advocate for patients and families and connect them with the right staff; provide micro updates to patients and loved ones.
• Care Team Support — restock, escort patients from triage, retrieve wheelchairs, relocate rooms, support non-clinical tasks.
• Discharge & Transition Home — coordinate transportation, pick up prescriptions, carry belongings home, arrange grocery/pet/childcare support.
• Every Day — HIPAA compliance, accurate service activity logging, embody BEST values.
