Job summary
VEG ER for Pets is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician for our Virginia hospital. You will work on the front lines of emergency care, handling triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents during stressful moments.
You will join a team dedicated to gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care, staying by patients' sides through tests, treatments, and discharge.
Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state of VEG practice is required
- 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty experience preferred
- Excellent communicator and calm under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for prolonged hours
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
Responsibilities
- Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing
- Nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge
- Administer meds and monitor IVs/CRIs/transfusions
- Communicate with team and help shape care plans
- Perform CPR and manage emergencies
- Diagnostics, imaging, sample collection
- Anesthesia for fragile patients
- Utilize advanced techniques like central lines and ultrasounds
