Job summary

The City of Marble Falls, Texas is seeking a Public Safety Communications Officer to operate radio and communications equipment, receive and relay critical information, and support responders. Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver's license required.
• Meet proficiency requirements from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCOLE), intermediate telecommunications preferred.
• Telecommunication certification must be obtained within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls and provide pre-arrival instructions.
• Prioritize calls and route to appropriate departments using procedures.
• Make outgoing calls as needed and direct callers to correct agencies.
• Maintain records in CAD, RMS and mobile software per guidelines.
• Monitor radio channels and ensure interoperable communications; document activity.
