The City of Lenexa Police Department is seeking an entry-level Police Dispatcher to join our team. This civilian position handles emergency and non-emergency calls, operates the CAD system, and coordinates with field units to support public safety.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be 18+, hold a valid driver's license, be a US citizen or eligible to work, type 40 wpm, and be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must be a US citizen or able to legally work in the United States.
• Must be able to accurately type 40 words per minute.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and short notice overtime assignments.

Responsabilités

• Answers emergency and non-emergency voice, text to 911 and TDD calls.
• Communicate with field units using two-way radio systems and monitor cameras.
• Operate a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and enter data in real time.
• Serve as liaison between citizens and police officers during incidents.
