Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years public safety communications desirable.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-employment security clearance check conducted locally and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Enter information into CAD and RMS systems.
• Relay information to patrol officers and fire personnel.
• Maintain radio and telephone logs and department inventories.
• Process teletype messages via KCJIS/NCIC and check records.
• Assist customers at the counter and provide copies of reports.
• Perform basic clerical duties and operate mass notification system.
• Monitor police social media pages and city communications.
• Complete at least 15 hours of continuing education annually.
• Other duties as required.
