Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Police Communications Operator to support PSP troopers by handling calls, coordinating responses, and maintaining accurate information during critical moments. You will operate with advanced systems, assist the public, and help ensure swift, coordinated emergency readiness.

You will perform duties including call handling, incident dispatch, agency coordination with fire/EMS, and record management in CLEAN and JNET.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience using two-way radio, multi-line telephone, or computer aided dispatch systems.
• Two years of experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information.
• Completion of 60 college credits.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency and non-emergency calls, gather details, determine response.
• Dispatch incident information to troopers via radio, telephone, and computer systems.
• Coordinate with fire, ambulance, towing, and other agencies to request assistance.
• Research records and update incident information using CLEAN and JNET.
• Respond to administrative inquiries and assist visitors at the station.
• Train new operators on procedures.
