Qualifications

• Alternatively, four years of customer service experience and completion of the Sacramento Police Department's Basic Dispatch Academy within the last 12 months.
• Proof of education may be required at appointment; international degrees must be evaluated.
• Background checks, polygraph, drug history, and related screenings are required.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch police units as needed.
• Maintain radio contact with units and coordinate information with other agencies.
• Enter and query data in the dispatch system and related records.
• Testify in court as needed and prepare reports on communications.
