Job summary

College of the Mainland is seeking a Part Time Police Dispatcher to support the department's TLETS operations and police radio dispatching in Texas City. The role requires handling calls, routing to officers, and maintaining logs and reports with discretion and accuracy.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, two years of telecommunicator experience, TCOLE licensing or eligibility, and knowledge of TAC operations. Proficiency in Omnigo and Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of telecommunicator experience are required.
• TCOLE licensed or must qualify to obtain license within 6 months of employment.
• Current on TCOLE mandatory training hours.
• Experience with TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) responsibilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized police/emergency dispatch and telecommunication duties and operation of the TLETS. Manages calls and extracts vital information for officer response; responsible for Omnigo reporting and emergency mass notification operations.
• Performs as a TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) and coordinates the TLETS / CJIS audits.
• Maintains all daily police activity, call, offense, incident, vehicle, and citation logs.
• Maintains the Clery crime log (virtual and physical).
• Compiles statistics for racial profiling state reporting and Clery crime statistics.
• Processes citations and offense reports and distributes to appropriate judicial systems.
• Organizes office filing systems and performs administrative duties.
• Monitors and operates the security camera system.
