The City of La Habra Police Department is seeking a motivated Lateral Communications Operator to support the Police Communications Center, a 24/7 operation. This role requires a typing certificate with a passing score of 40 NWPM and the ability to multi-task under pressure.

Responsibilities include handling emergency and non-emergency calls, documenting information, and coordinating with field units. Shifts vary and may include holidays and nights.

Formación

• Typing certificate with passing score 40 NWPM is required.
• Lateral Communications Operator role in Police Communications Center.
• Shift work including holidays, weekends, and nights is required.

Responsabilidades

• Receives calls, complaints, and inquiries from the public for police or other emergency services by phone.
• Screens incoming calls to determine priority resources and types of response.
• Simultaneously receives, responds to and documents information from multiple sources for field units.
• Maintains accurate data entry and relays information to responding personnel.
• Coordinates with other cities/agencies for cooperative emergency operations.
