Job summary

The Biltmore Company is seeking a Police Telecommunicator to handle emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch units, and monitor alarms from the on-site communications center. This full-time role requires quick thinking, excellent communication, and the ability to work evening shifts.

Starting pay is $17.09/hour with a $1.25/hour second-shift differential, totaling $18.34/hour. Shifts typically run 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with potential night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; DCI computer operator certification preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain NC Telecommunicator certificate.
• At least 1 year of related field experience preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn geography of the Biltmore estate and surroundings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in emergencies.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; EMS systems experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prioritizes emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Operates multi-frequency, multi-radio communication system.
• Dispatches police and other departments to calls.
• Answers emergency and routine phone calls.
• Maintains communication with involved parties in emergencies.
• Condenses and records information into logs and reporting systems.
• Relays vital information to 911 for external response.
• Monitors alarms and CCTV systems and dispatches personnel as needed.
