Brown County Public Safety Communications is recruiting 911 Dispatchers (Telecommunication Operators). We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to be part of a team and make a difference to responders, the community, and visitors of Brown County.

There is extensive training with certification. The role requires handling stress, operating radio and keyboard systems, and providing accurate information.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of area geography.
• Ability to learn required software.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and telephone equipment.
• Ability to maintain emotional stability under stress.
• Ability to follow departmental rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Answer and route emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate a radio dispatch position.
• Input data on multiple keyboard terminals.
• Maintain documentation of all communications.
• Assist with incident routing using county geography.
• Testify at adjudication hearings as necessary.
