Job summary

BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Police Communication Specialist (Police Dispatcher) to handle emergency calls, provide critical information, and coordinate timely responses for safety and security across the network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must obtain valid driver’s license.
• Must complete the Basic Telecommunicator Proficiency license within the first year.
• Basic computer and software knowledge.
• Physically and psychologically fit with background check and state requirements.
• Knowledge of criminal law and procedures.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/3 days off).

Responsibilities

• Receive and handle emergency calls from governmental and public safety agencies, Resource Protection personnel, BNSF employees and the general public.
• Serve as an information source for Resource Protection and other BNSF departments.
• Provide pertinent contact services for BNSF customers. Coordinate Response to emergencies.
• Monitor access to the Network Operations Center and other facilities; monitor environmental and fire alarm systems.
• Provide accurate, detailed reports and testimony when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
