Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy seeks an Acute Care Hospital Registrar 1 to manage timely patient registration/admission, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and support a smooth patient flow in the Emergency Center. You will obtain demographic data, perform financial screening for self-pay and out-of-network patients, and coordinate with Financial Advisors as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, medical terminology knowledge, and accurate data entry using EPIC. Evening shifts from 3 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience in customer service or health care.
• Proficient in medical terminology and typing (≥30 wpm).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and register/admit patients via EPIC, directing them as needed.
• Collect demographic and financial information and process payments.
• Verify insurance and obtain referrals; communicate with patients and providers.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, policies and Meaningful Use guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling and patient flow; provide patient wayfinding as required.
