Job summary

Spectrum Health is seeking an Acute Care Hospital Registrar 1 for the Troy hospital to ensure smooth, timely patient registration and admission processes. You will collect accurate demographic, clinical, and insurance data, handle co-pays/deductibles, and guide patients to Financial Advisors as necessary while maintaining high service standards.

You will work the afternoon shift (2 p.m. – 10 p.m.), rotating weekends, with mandatory orientation the first week (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly with a warm and friendly reception.
• Register patients for visits and admit types via EPIC EMR and document demographics.
• Perform accurate financial data collection and ensure timely documentation.
• Verify and document insurance information, authorizations, and referrals as needed.
• Provide cost estimates and assist with patient financial screening and questions.
• Transcribe orders, manage patient charts, and operate registration-related clerical tasks.
