Job summary

Corewell Health in Grosse Pointe's Emergency Center seeks an Acute Care Hospital Registrar 1 for part-time evenings (2:30 p.m.–11 p.m.) with rotating weekends. Under the Front Line Manager, you ensure a smooth registration/admission flow by collecting accurate demographic, clinical and insurance data.

You collect co-pays and balances, perform initial financial screening for self-pay and out-of-network patients, refer to Financial Advisors as needed, and assist with patient wayfinding, privacy

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly with a warm and friendly reception.
• Direct patients to appropriate setting, explaining and apologizing for delays.
• Maintain professionalism and diplomacy, following department standards.
• Register patients for each visit type and admit type via EPIC EMR.
• Collects and documents demographic and financial information.
• Verify patient information with third party payers and obtain referrals.
• Review/obtain/witness consent forms and provide cost estimates.
• Screen all patients for financial responsibility and initiate payment plans.
