Job summary

Responsibilities

• Transports patients using wheelchair or stretcher within the hospital.
• Assists patients with ambulation and daily care as needed.
• Positions patients and assists with bedpan, commode, or urinal.
• Answers call lights and notifies the nurse of needs beyond scope of position.
• Cleans and changes stretcher linen and restocks supplies.
• Labels, bags, and delivers samples to lab per hospital protocol.
• Reports changes in condition to nurses and documents care given.
