Job summary

Community Health Systems in Flowood, MS is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT I) to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation in the EMS department. You will support patient care under a Paramedic or clinical leader, maintain equipment, and document patient information in the EMR.

The position requires a state-approved EMT training program, BCLS, and a willingness to work night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a state-approved EMT training program.
• Advanced EMT course is preferred for this role.
• Experience in hospital ED, ambulance, or critical care transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care per scope of practice and policies.
• Assist with patient assessment, vital signs, and care under supervision.
• Administer CPR, wound care, bleeding control, splinting, and breathing support as assigned.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely in accordance with policy and law.
• Perform shift checks on vehicle and equipment for readiness.
• Maintain supplies and complete documentation in the EMR.
• Escalate concerns through the proper chain of command.
• Collaborate with paramedics and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.
