Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Part-time Multi-Skilled Technician for the Emergency Room. Under RN supervision, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, assist with EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and transport patients between departments and to testing locations.

You will help with bedside duties, documentation, vital signs, and maintaining equipment and supply rooms. Requires strong attention to detail, medical terminology knowledge, and teamwork in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• BCRA certification within 6–12 months of hire.
• Enrollment in nursing program or MST training; EMT-B may be accepted.
• One year of staff assistant or related healthcare experience.
• One year of patient care technician or related healthcare experience.
• Prior electrophysiology technician experience.
• Ability to read, write and explain information to patients and staff.
• Attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsabilités

• Provides a full spectrum of patient care within ED; assists with multiple care groups.
• Applies splinting material and provides orthopedic care as directed.
• Accurately records vital signs and monitors patients.
• Floats between campuses and supports various departments as needed.
• Assists with EKG procedures including lead placement and troubleshooting.
• Collects blood and urine specimens using proper phlebotomy technique.
• Documents vitals and coordinates patient care with other teams.
• Performs wound care and dressing changes per protocol.
• Performs point-of-care testing and maintains supplies.
• Coordinates patient transport and throughput across departments.
• Documents patient movement and maintains accurate databases.
• Assists with daily room readiness and infection control tasks.
• Supports patient discharge processes and post-discharge instructions.
• Maintains competency on spinal immobilization, trauma care, CHF and stroke.
• Collaborates with caregivers to ensure safe, effective care.
• Maintains professional appearance and department cleanliness.
• Adheres to Genesis mission, values, and patient-centered care standards.
