Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in direct patient care.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• EMT or SRNA certification preferred or required in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and identifies patients upon department entry.
• Provides directions and information to patients and guests.
• Assists with data collection for nurse assessment.
• Assists clinicians with patient care and ongoing assessments.
• Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs) and submits results for interpretation.
• Assists nursing staff with patient considerations and reports changes.
• Performs venipuncture and specimen collection with proper skills.
• Keeps patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Assists with administrative duties including communication with providers and arranging transport.
• May transport patients using safe lifting techniques and assistive devices.
• Demonstrates staffing flexibility and may work in other areas as needed.
