Job summary

The Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator role supports clinical care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performing phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and critical safety tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program, or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.
• Certification as CNA/CMA/EMT is preferred; BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care support under RN direction.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes in multiple computer systems.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma and respiratory care tasks as assigned.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately into hospital systems and assist with patient documentation.
• Move, transport, and assist patients and specimens as needed.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are organized, cleaned, and disinfected per policy.
