Job summary

ChristianaCare's Middletown Emergency Department seeks an Emergency Care Technician to support patient care across neonatal to geriatric cohorts. You’ll obtain vitals, assist with phlebotomy, and perform EKGs under supervision, contributing to a high-volume ED with rapid response capabilities.

The role offers 72 hours per pay period, 11a-11p shifts, weekend rotation, and competitive pay with shift differentials, plus a strong benefits package and PTO.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience or completion of Patient Care Technician and/or Phlebotomist programs.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned nursing procedures for patient comfort and well-being.
• Responds to patient crises and notifies RN.
• Performs venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Performs unit tasks under RN direction, e.g. EKGs, height/weight.
• Reviews orders for patient testing and sends lab specimens via PowerChart.
