Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Public Safety on the Day/Evening shift. The role supports the Emergency Department and in-house emergencies, with a focus on patient monitoring, safety, and rapid response.

The position offers 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1900 hours, every other weekend plus holidays, with shift differentials for Day and Evening shifts and robust benefits from day one including medical, dental and eyecare, tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• EMT-B (National Registered EMT-B) and Delaware EMT-B certifications required.
• BLS with instructor preferred.
• EVO-C certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of emergency patient care experience.
• 911 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in the Emergency Department for changes in condition that require triage nurse notification.
• Monitor waiting area for safety hazards and take corrective action as needed.
• Assist patients and visitors with questions and concerns.
• Offload and load patients for helicopter landings.
• Respond to outpatient or visitor emergencies and render care to stabilize individuals.
• Transport patients to appropriate treatment areas.
• Assist ED staff due to high volume of patients.
