Job summary

ProMedica's Hickman Hospital Emergency Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech II to support the patient care team, assist with exams, data collection, transport, and documentation. You will help coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers, answer phones, and ensure supplies and equipment are stocked and functioning.

The role requires at least a high school diploma with EMT/Paramedic or CNA/MA training, and BLS certification; experience in acute care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma plus EMT/Paramedic, 2nd year nursing student, CNA, MA, or healthcare-related training.
• Skills: English literacy, communication, phone etiquette, basic math, word processing and basic computer skills.
• Certification: BLS and de-escalation training as per unit requirements.
• Experience: Minimum one year in acute care delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care adjusted to patient age groups (infant to geriatric) under licensed staff.
• Obtain patient data (vital signs, I&O) and document in nursing records.
• Assist with exams, venipuncture, EKGs, and patient transfers as needed.
• Maintain stock and proper functioning of supplies and equipment.
• Schedule procedures, admit/discharge/transfer coordination, answer phones.
• Transport specimens and documents; support department during crises.
