Job summary

ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit. You will support the patient care team by performing clinical and clerical tasks, schedule procedures, coordinate admissions/discharges, answer phones, and help ensure safe patient care.

The role requires High school diploma, BLS within 6 months, strong communication and computer skills, and prior nursing assistant experience.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain BLS within 6 months of hire.
• Read, write, and speak English; strong communication skills required.
• Prior nursing assistant experience or recent completion of a nursing assistant program.
• Ability to perform basic math and use basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care activities under licensed nursing personnel.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Support scheduling of procedures and coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain inventory and supply levels for unit operations.
• Collaborate with health care team to ensure efficient patient services.
