Job summary

MyMichigan Health in West Branch seeks an ED Tech to support direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will assist nurses and physicians, perform duties within scope, take vital signs, EKGs, collect labs, and help with patient transport, while maintaining a patient-centered, compassionate approach.

Requires BLS, Michigan PCT/CNA/EMT/LPN internal certification or equivalent, high school diploma, and ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Organizational skills to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to care for patients across age groups from prenatal to 100+ years.
• Must complete NIMS 100 and 700 within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN direction, including vital signs, transfers and responding to alarms.
• Assist with EKGs, specimen collection and routine procedures as assigned.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Help with mobility, lifting and transport of patients as required.
• Assist physicians with procedures and minor surgeries under supervision.
