Job summary

Axon in Sterling, VA, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its contracts and corporate team, partnering with Sales, Engineering, Product and IT to structure and negotiate complex transactions for Axon’s public safety technology.

You will lead templates, risk analyses and the contract lifecycle, supervise Contracts Managers, and ensure compliance across regions. A U.S. state bar, a J.D., and 5+ years in-house experience are required. Travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.
• Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, hardware, and services contracts.
• Knowledge of procurement laws and process in multiple regions, including UK/EU or US.
• Must be located on the east coast.
• Knowledge and experience negotiating framework agreements.
• Ability to act with urgency on all requests.
• Pass-first attitude with a desire to train and mentor others.
• Experience supporting large and dynamic organizations.
• Deep understanding of contract lifecycle processes and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the EMEA region sales teams and potentially other regions as demand dictates.
• Provide legal advice on transactional matters related to sale of Axon’s products and services.
• Structure, review and negotiate contracts for goods, services and SaaS solutions; advise on risk.
• Supervise Contracts Managers and enforce risk levels and knowledge bases.
• Draft, update and maintain contract templates, analyses, policies and procedures.
• Support contract lifecycle management system implementation.
• Collaborate with attorneys, contracts managers and admin staff to grow and mentor others.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
