Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Test Technician for our Johnson City, TN site to contribute to EMC testing, product validation, and lab efficiency on day shift. The role emphasizes on-site work with a focus on reliability of Siemens industrial automation products.

You will work with a global engineering and certification team to execute test plans, report results, and ensure compliance with international standards while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in EMC, validation, or product testing laboratory environment.
• Perform EMC testing per applicable standards incl. IEC 61000, CISPR, IEC 61131-2.
• Experience operating EMC test equipment incl. LISNs, CDNs, RF generators, EFT, surge generators.
• Experience analyzing, documenting, and reporting test results in a lab.
• Experience developing and executing functional verification and validation test plans.
• Experience with PLC hardware, software, and industrial automation systems.
• Travel anticipated <5% domestic and/or international.
• Must be 21+ and have a valid driver’s license; legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance, quality, and reliability of Siemens industrial automation products through EMC and functional validation testing.
• Develop robust test methods, automation solutions, and lab capabilities to accelerate certification and product release.
• Support ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab through quality initiatives and process optimization.
• Collaborate with global engineering, product development, and certification teams to resolve issues early in the lifecycle.
• Enhance lab efficiency with PLC-based automation, test equipment controls, and data monitoring.
• Maintain schedules and ensure projects meet client expectations.
• Deliver accurate, repeatable, high-quality test results to build customer confidence.
• Develop and monitor Measurement Uncertainty records per lab procedures and accreditation.
