Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Technical Lead for EMC and ESD to provide technical leadership for automotive electrical and electronic systems. You will define strategies, conduct risk assessments, and guide teams across shielding, grounding, and harness design to ensure robust performance and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with suppliers and labs, and communicate risks and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or related field.
10+ years of automotive EMC, ESD, electrical systems, or related experience.
Demonstrated experience with vehicle- or system-level EMC/ESD development and issue resolution.
Strong understanding of EMC fundamentals, signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and system interactions.
Experience interpreting test results and driving corrective actions to closure.
Ability to lead technical reviews and make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead EMC and ESD activities for automotive electrical/electronic systems from concept to production.
Define vehicle-level EMC/ESD strategies, requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
Drive risk assessments, design reviews, test readiness reviews, and issue-resolution activities.
Analyze test data and field issues to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across the organization.
