Liquid Graphics, Inc. is building an in-house embroidery department and seeks a hands-on leader to run it from day one.
You will set up and operate commercial embroidery equipment, manage the schedule, ensure quality, and own departmental metrics. You will also coordinate with the master scheduler, train cross‑trained staff, and drive production efficiency while maintaining readiness to adapt to peak workloads.
Liquid is building an in-house embroidery department and we are hiring the person who will run it, from the day the equipment lands.
This is a hands‑on operator job with supervisory scope, not a desk job. You will run equipment, hoop garments and clear problems yourself, and you will also own the schedule, the quality standard and the department's numbers.
We are building this department to take embroidery in-house. You are the first person in it. How it runs is largely yours to define.
Production.Set up and run commercial embroidery equipment. Load designs, hoop and unhoop, clear thread breaks, change needles, manage tension. Keep the floor moving.
Scheduling.Work with our master scheduler to decide what runs when. Protect rush work and committed delivery dates.
Quality.Set and hold the standard. Approve first-offs before a run goes. Own registration, density, backing choice, puckering and trim quality. You are the last check before a garment reaches a customer.
Uptime.Keep equipment running. Daily cleaning, oiling on schedule, rotating needles, and catching a problem before it becomes a service call.
Consumables.Manage thread, backing, bobbins and needles. Reorder before we run out. Keep waste visible.
Reporting.Track pieces produced, output per hour, spoilage and machine hours accurately. These numbers drive how we quote work.
People.Direct the helpers and finishers working in the department, including cross‑trained staff from other teams. Start to build your team.
Read this part carefully — it matters to us as much as embroidery experience.
Our equipment is run from a computer rather than from individual control panels. You will push designs out, queue and sequence jobs, monitor production on screen and pull output data off the system. If you are not comfortable working on a computer for most of a shift, this job will not suit you.
You will work in embroidery design software every day: loading and editing designs, adjusting stitch files, managing the design library, and handling routine edits yourself rather than sending every change out.
You will also work in our production and scheduling software, and you will be the person your department turns to when something in it does not behave as expected.
We hire for the ability to learn software, not for a list of programs you already know. We would rather have someone who has taught themselves two or three tools well than someone who has run one control panel for fifteen years. If you are the person who reads the manual, finds the setting nobody else found and then shows the rest of the floor how it works, tell us about that in your application.
Embroidery does not run in isolation here. When the machines are not loaded, our people move to sewing, transfers, finishing or packaging. When embroidery is slammed, we pull cross‑trained people in from those teams, including on second shift.
That makes you a scheduler across departmental lines as much as within your own. You will:
Our busiest month runs more than three times our quietest. The job is not steady-state — it swings, and the swing is managed by moving people, not by carrying extra headcount.
Schedule. Day shift, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening coverage during peak weeks, when we extend into our existing second shift.
Pay. $25.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on experience, plus Liquid's standard benefits package.
Reports to. General Manager.
Location. On site. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
Start. As soon as the machines are installed. We would like you here for the install and the manufacturer's on‑site training so the department is yours from day one.
