Job summary

Workwear Outfitters, based in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Sewing/Embroidery Operator for 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Mon–Fri; overtime possible). You will check in garments, load designs, hoop and run machines, adjust tensions, fix errors, and maintain a clean work area with attention to detail.

Requirements include basic English, ability to stand/walk all shift, lift up to 50 lb, and strong teamwork and attendance. Prior sewing/embroidery experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
• High attention to detail and quality.

• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Good attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Check in garments when they arrive.
• Load design onto the machine via computer.
• Hoop garment and prep for the next run.
• Operate machines while trimming the backing.
• Learn to adjust tensions for better sewing quality.
• Fix errors on items as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Sewing / embroidery experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic communication skills to include reading, speaking, and understanding English and basic math skills.
• The physical ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the work shift.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Specific vision abilities required of the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position requires a high attention to detail and quality.
• This position requires demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work with others in a positive manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Must follow directions well.
• Ability to work overtime – including work on weekends, when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn how to adjust tensions for better sewing quality

HOURS

2nd shift hours: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. OT may be required daily and on Saturday
