Job summary

Workwear Outfitters is hiring for a sewing/production role on the 2nd shift in Nashville area. You will check in garments, load designs via computer, hoop items, and operate sewing machines to prep runs.

The position emphasizes quality, attention to detail, and teamwork. Overtime and weekend work may be required; standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

• Sewing/embroidery experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic English reading, speaking, and math skills.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work with others in a positive manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Follow directions well.
• Overtime and weekend availability.
• Good attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Check in garments when they arrive.
• Load design onto the machine via computer.
• Hoop garment or item while machine is running prepping for the next run.
• Operate machines while trimming the backing.
• Learn how to adjust tensions for better sewing quality.
• Fix errors if needed on items.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment that shows pride in Workwear.

REQUIREMENTS

• Sewing / embroidery experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic communication skills to include reading, speaking, and understanding English and basic math skills.
• The physical ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the work shift.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Specific vision abilities required of the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position requires a high attention to detail and quality.
• This position requires demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work with others in a positive manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Must follow directions well.
• Ability to work overtime - including work on weekends, when needed.
