Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a production coordinator who will bridge embroidery digitizing and scheduling to keep the production flow fast and accurate. You’ll prepare files, set priorities, and communicate needs across teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality embroidery.

The role emphasizes strong organization, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with the Embroidery Supervisor and floor teams in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous embroidery digitizing experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial embroidery production.
  • Experience with embroidery digitizing software; Wilcom or similar professional software preferred.
  • Understanding of stitch types, densities, underlay, pull compensation, registration, threadbreaks, garment construction, and other factors affecting embroidery quality.
  • Experience scheduling or coordinating work in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working with production systems, spreadsheets, email, and other administrative tools.
  • Strong communication and follow-through.
  • Ability to identify problems before they reach the production floor.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with both production leadership and floor teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize embroidery files for production.
  • Review artwork and determine the best embroidery approach based on garment, placement, stitch count, size, and production requirements.
  • Make adjustments to improve sew quality, efficiency, registration, and overall finished appearance.
  • Troubleshoot embroidery and digitizing issues in partnership with the Embroidery Supervisor and production team.
  • Maintain organized embroidery files and technical information for repeat orders.
  • Schedule and maintain the daily and weekly embroidery production schedule.
  • Prioritize orders based on due dates, capacity, job requirements, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with the Embroidery Supervisor to understand machine capacity, staffing, productivity, and potential production constraints.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, or potential delays early and communicate them proactively.
  • Adjust schedules as priorities and production conditions change.
  • Serve as a key communication point between Embroidery and other departments involved in getting orders through production.
  • Provide clear updates regarding order status, scheduling, delays, technical issues, and help ensure rush orders are incorporated into the schedule.

Description

Position Summary

This role combines hands-on knowledge of embroidery digitizing with production scheduling,order coordination, and cross-functional communication. You will work hand in hand with ourEmbroidery Supervisor to ensure jobs are properly prepared, prioritized, scheduled, andcommunicated before they hit the production floor.

While the Embroidery Supervisor will primarily focus on the people, machines, productivity,quality, and day-to-day execution on the floor, this position will focus on what keeps thatproduction moving: digitizing, scheduling, planning, job readiness, and communication.

This is an ideal role for someone who understands embroidery production but also lovesorganization, problem-solving, and keeping a fast-moving department several steps ahead.

1. Own Embroidery Digitizing & Job Readiness: Ensure embroidery files are accurately

digitized, optimized, tested, and production-ready before reaching the floor, minimizing

rework, downtime, and quality issues.

2. Drive the Embroidery Production Schedule: Build, maintain, and continuously adjust the

embroidery schedule based on due dates, capacity, priorities, and production needs, ensuring

the Supervisor and team always have clear direction on what runs next.

3. Own Order Flow & Communication: Stay ahead of embroidery orders from preparation

through completion, proactively communicating priorities, delays, missing information, and

schedule changes to the Supervisor and appropriate teams.
