Qualifications

  • Prefer six months or more of commercial embroidery, sewing-machine, garment-decoration, or related production equipment experience.
  • One to two years of related warehouse experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic computer skills to enter production information into WMS and Excel-based tracking sheets.
  • Ability to understand work orders, product specifications, and safety instructions in English.

Job description

The Embroiderer Warehouse Associate will support the warehouse's operation by embroidering client orders including handkerchiefs, towels, aprons, robes, hygiene kit bags, and similar items accurately and within established turnaround targets. This role involves setting up and operating embroidery equipment, maintaining quality standards, and coordinating with the warehouse team to ensure orders are embroidered, packed, and shipped on schedule. The Embroiderer must also be flexible to support other warehouse functions as business needs require.

Responsibilities

General Warehouse Associate job duties

  • Assist with other warehouse functions, including picking, packing, shipping, and receiving, when embroidery work is not available.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while operating embroidery equipment and performing warehouse duties.
  • Maintain an organized and clean embroidery work area.
Embroidery Machine Setup & Operation
  • Retrieve staged embroidery orders and verify order details, garment counts, and design specifications prior to starting work.
  • Set up and operate embroidery machines, including hooping, thread selection, stabilizer/backing selection, and needle changes according to customer specifications.
  • Load approved digitized designs into the embroidery machine; this position is not responsible for creating or substantially modifying embroidery design files.
  • Embroider items accurately and in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Prioritize and complete assigned orders within established service-level targets, ordinarily three business days, and promptly
    escalate any conditions that may cause delays.
Quality Control
  • Conduct quality checks on embroidered items to confirm correct placement, stitch quality, and thread color, and identify and correct tension, registration, or thread-break issues.
  • Report any defects, damaged items, or machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
Production Support & Recordkeeping
  • Pack finished embroidered items and prepare accurate packing slips and shipping labels.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of embroidery machines.
  • Track embroidery supplies such as thread, backing, and bobbins, and inform the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
  • Enter and maintain accurate embroidery production records using the Warehouse Management System and Excel-based tracking sheets.
  • Communicate with internal teams regarding order status, production delays, or discrepancies.
  • Preferable six months or more of commercial embroidery, sewing-machine, garment-decoration, or comparable production-equipment experience is preferred; Bergen will consider candidates with strong machine-operation experience and the ability to successfully complete embroidery training.
  • One to two years of related warehouse experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter production information into the WMS and Excel-based tracking sheets.
  • Basic ability to understand work orders, product specifications, safety instructions, and essential workplace communications in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications and work orders accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Must be flexible and willing to perform other warehouse functions when embroidery work is not available.

Physical Requirements
Embroidery Work
  • Prolonged standing or sitting while operating embroidery equipment.
  • Repetitive hand and arm use, including hooping, threading, and machine operation.
  • Reaching and close visual inspection to confirm placement and stitch quality.
  • Lifting and moving embroidery materials and finished goods, generally 10–30 lbs.
Warehouse Assignments
  • Walking and standing for extended periods, including stair climbing.
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling to retrieve and stock products at various heights.
  • May be required to climb ladders or stairs to access products stored on higher shelves.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of objects up to 30lbs.- 50lbs with team support as needed.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks, such as packing, sorting, or labeling, with efficiency and attention to detail.
  • The embroidery room is temperature controlled; however, must be able to tolerate fluctuations in facility temperature if assigned to other areas of the warehouse as needed.
  • Must be able to tolerate an occasional high noise volume environment that includes speakers, fans, moving racks, and conveyor belts.
