Job summary

Bergman Incentives is seeking an Embroidery Operator to join our production team. You will operate embroidery machines, follow work instructions, ensure quality, and contribute to timely output.

The ideal candidate has good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for long shifts. Experience is preferred but not required; training is provided on-site to ensure precise logos and personalization across garments and bags.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Embroidery Machine Operator preferred but not required.
  • Ability to meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand work instructions and ensure correct garments and VAS.
  • Prepare embroidery process: thread colors, spools, and machine setup.
  • Finish by removing items, inspecting quality against standards, and trimming excess material.
  • Repair defects by re-running or adding stitches and trimming backing/thread.
  • Use embroidery hoops to hold fabric and position on machine.
  • Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues; perform routine maintenance.
  • Work within efficiency and quality standards to complete embroidery accurately and on time.

Embroidery Operator

Embroidery operator utilizes embroidery machine(s) to place logos and personalization on garments, hats and bags. Working with these garments includes hooping, steaming, folding, quality control and light machine maintenance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Read and understand work instruction documents and ensure matches garment and identified “Value Added Service” (VAS) to be applied. Must also be able to follow style and color guidelines to create standard garments.
  • Complete preparatory steps required to begin embroidery process including selecting size and color of thread; placing spools of thread on spindles; inserting bobbins and threading ends through machine guides and components; turning setscrews to regulate machine settings according to garment styles and equipment performance and measuring and marking for center-point placement.
  • Complete finishing steps by removing garment holding devices and taking finished items from machines. Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to all quality standards and/or instructions.
  • Repair any defective embroidery by picking out mistake and re-running or adding missing stitches and trimming excess backing and thread from the finished product.
  • Able to utilize embroidery hoops to hold fabric taut and place on machine for embroidery.
  • Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread or machine malfunctions. Trouble-shoot small machine problems and performs routine maintenance tasks, ie., replacing needles, cleaning/oiling equipment.
  • Work within established efficiency and quality standards to ensure embroidery work is completed accurately and timely.

  • Experience as Embroidery Machine Operator – Preferred but not required
  • Ability to meet established productivity and quality standards
  • Ability to use U.S. Customary Ruler for making measurements
  • Superior hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to stand for entire shift and walk, bend, push, pull, reach and lift up to 35 pounds while practicing proper safety procedures
  • Hand and finger dexterity needed for small movements
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong reading comprehension to be able to understand and execute instructions in work related documents
  • Experience in working with a variety of fabrics
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Ability to evaluate finished product against work instruction and assure work meets required standard.
  • Reliable, responsible and dependable in fulfilling attendance requirements.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to variables in the work environment and job requirements.
