Graphic Trade Printers is seeking a skilled Embroidery Machine Operator to join our Greensboro production team. The role requires setting up and operating commercial embroidery equipment, preparing materials, and ensuring every orders meet customer specifications and our quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of embroidery machine experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience operating commercial embroidery machines.
  • Experience with multi-head embroidery machines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embroidery production processes: hooping, thread selection, backing, needles, garment placement.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders, artwork, project specs, and customer requirements before production.
  • Set up and operate commercial embroidery machines for various projects.
  • Hoop garments accurately and select threads, needles, hoops, and backing as needed.
  • Load designs and verify alignment and thread sequence before production.
  • Monitor machines to ensure consistent quality and finish per specs.
  • Troubleshoot common machine issues like thread breaks and tension problems.
  • Inspect finished embroidery for placement, color accuracy, and quality.
  • Maintain equipment with routine cleaning and minor adjustments.

Embroidery Machine Operator
Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Embroidery Machine Operator to join our production team. The Embroidery Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating commercial embroidery equipment, preparing materials, monitoring production, troubleshooting machine issues, and ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and our quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous embroidery production experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple work orders in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires a combination of technical ability, organization, and an eye for quality and design.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review and understand work orders, artwork, project specifications, and customer requirements before beginning production.
  • Set up and operate commercial embroidery machines for various embroidery projects.
  • Select the appropriate thread colors, needles, hoops, backing, and other materials for each job.
  • Properly hoop and position garments and other products to ensure accurate embroidery placement.
  • Load embroidery designs and verify correct design, size, orientation, and thread sequence before production.
  • Monitor embroidery machines throughout the production process to ensure consistent quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot common machine issues, including thread breaks, tension problems, needle issues, and alignment concerns.
  • Inspect completed embroidery for proper placement, stitching, colors, and overall quality.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and basic adjustments to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Monitor embroidery supplies and inventory and report materials that need to be reordered.
  • Provide suggestions regarding embroidery design, placement, thread selection, and production methods when appropriate.
  • Keep track of work orders, production quantities, completed jobs, and other required production records.
  • Communicate with the production team to ensure orders are completed accurately and shipped on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Provide training and guidance to new team members as needed.
  • Assist with other production and finishing responsibilities when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 1–2 years of experience operating commercial embroidery machines required or preferred.
  • Experience with multi-head commercial embroidery machines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embroidery production, including hooping, thread selection, backing, needles, bobbins, and garment placement.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, production instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple work orders and production priorities.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a production-driven environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks.
