Actalent is hiring a Software Test Engineer in Troy, MI to verify and validate embedded vehicle software. You will develop automated tests, participate in HIL/SIL environments, and work across labs and field settings to ensure robust software delivery.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, script development in Python and related tools, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive quality and CI/CD improvements. This is a contract-to-hire position with onsite work in Troy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software Test Engineering, QA, embedded software, or systems integration.
• Proficiency with automated test development tools and scripting languages.
• Ability to work with HIL/SIL environments and vehicle networks.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain automated test frameworks.
• Support HIL and SIL test environments.
• Conduct hands-on testing in lab and vehicle settings.
• Capture and analyze vehicle network communications.
• Troubleshoot software and system integration issues.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify root causes and drive fixes.
• Support CI/CD and automated regression testing.
• Develop formal test documentation for milestones and fielding.
