Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a software engineer to develop virtual ECUs (VECUs) and their real-time counterparts. You will work with design release engineers, Tier 1 suppliers, and model integration partners to create and deploy VECU packages to GM users, applying production software to VECUs.

You will validate and verify VECU and application software, debug in a virtual environment, and develop new simulation and test scripts to address expanding virtual ECU needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• Two years of relevant experience in software/engineer roles with ECU/embedded systems.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN/LIN/SPI) and common toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Develop virtual ECUs (VECU) and real-time virtual counterparts of physical ECUs.
• Collaborate with design release engineers, Tier 1 suppliers, and model integration partners.
• Deploy VECU packages to GM users and validate software integrity via testing.
• Debug VECUs and production software in a virtual environment and improve test scripts.
• Work with simulation integration engineers to integrate VECUs on virtual benches.
