Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an Embedded Tester (SIT) to support testing for a safety-critical medical device. The role focuses on verification, requirements analysis, and test execution for embedded software in C and C++ within RTOS and Non-RTOS environments.

The candidate will collaborate on test plans, coordinate test hardware, and contribute to design and code reviews while ensuring compliance with medical device software processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in design & development and testing for embedded systems (not responsible for design/development)
• Understand C language design for micro-controller based Non-RTOS and RTOS environments
• Understand GUI design in C++ for micro-controller RTOS environments
• Perform requirement analysis and identify gaps against input documents for a safety-critical medical device
• Identify relevant test hardware for system testing
• Develop software integration test plans and protocols for embedded handheld medical device and execute per medical device SW processes
• Perform software regression analysis in C & C++ with knowledge of custom HW design
• Participate in requirements, design and code review meetings

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and identify gaps; define test scenarios and combinations from given docs
• Identify appropriate test hardware for system testing and coordinate setups
• Develop and execute integration test plans and protocols for embedded handheld medical devices
• Perform regression analysis on C/C++ code with related hardware considerations

Qualifications & Experience

• We need engineers who have experience in design & development and testing. But this job does not include any design/development.
• Understand the design developed in C language for micro-controller based on Non-RTOS and RTOS environment for a highly safety critical handheld medical device.
• Understand the GUI design developed in C++ language for micro-controller based RTOS environment for a highly safety critical handheld medical device.
• Perform Requirement analysis and identify gaps. Identify test scenarios/combinations for the input documents such as requirements and/or design documents for a highly safety critical handheld medical device.
• Identify the relevant test hardware equipments' for the system testing.
• Develop software integration test plan and protocols against design input docs & code for embedded handheld battery-operated medical device & execute them as per process defined for Medical device SW development.
• Perform software code regression analysis (in C & C++) with knowledge of custom HW design to plan for integration testing.
• Actively participate & provide comments on the requirements, design & code review meetings

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $59,000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $99,000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
