Job summary

Verkada is seeking software engineering interns to contribute to embedded software for our fleet of devices. You will work across the stack on product and platform teams, owning parts of the codebase and delivering features to customers worldwide.

This role requires on-site work at our San Mateo HQ, pursuing a CS degree with graduation by 2027, internship experience, and hands-on skills in Embedded Linux, C, C++, and Go.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, graduating by 2027.
• Internship experience developing and launching products.
• Experience with Embedded Linux, C, USB, I2C, Yocto.
• Familiar with Linux servers, device drivers, kernel patches, and security-focused programming.
• Comfortable in an Agile team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain embedded software for devices.
• Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines across projects.
• Collaborate with hardware to build features in C, C++, and Go.
• Develop software, firmware, and drivers for Verkada systems.
• Work with product teams to ship features that delight users.
• Experiment with new development boards and push updates OTA.
