Job summary

Parallel Systems is seeking Software Engineering Interns to help build the software powering our autonomous vehicle platforms and fleet ecosystem in Los Angeles. Interns will own scoped projects from requirements through delivery, mentored by experienced engineers, with hands-on work on real hardware and software used by operators.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in CS, CE, ECE, robotics, mechatronics, or related field.
• Hands-on software experience through internships, student teams, research, coursework, or personal projects.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Rust, C, C++, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Ability to debug across hardware-software boundaries and system interfaces.
• Clear communication and eagerness to learn in a hands-on, hard-tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle software components on microcontrollers or embedded Linux.
• Work on vehicle communications interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART) and bench debugging.
• Integrate sensors and diagnostics for telemetry and health monitoring.
• Build fleet services and data pipelines for vehicles in the field.
• Create APIs and web tools to monitor, dispatch, and manage vehicles.
• Contribute to CI/CD, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and observability.
