Job summary

Aptiv's Wind River team seeks an Embedded Software Intern to help develop real-world OS and low-level software. You will work with experienced engineers on active product projects and gain hands-on experience interfacing software with hardware.

The role is ideal for students passionate about Linux, embedded systems, robotics, and hardware-software interaction, and requires onsite presence in Walnut Creek, California at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Coursework in Operating Systems and Embedded Systems completed or in progress.
• Experience with Linux, robotics, microcontrollers, or embedded platforms.
• Strong interest in low-level software development and hardware interaction.
• Hands-on projects demonstrating passion for technology and electronics.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support software development activities related to operating systems and embedded software.
• Collaborate with engineers on active product development projects.
• Contribute to real products and features on the team's roadmap.
• Apply academic knowledge to solve engineering challenges.
• Work closely with team in a collaborative environment with onsite exposure.
• Participate in a hybrid work environment with regular onsite collaboration.
