Job summary

SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. in Mossville, IL seeks an Embedded Software & Systems Integration Engineer to join an advanced engineering team.

You will develop real-time embedded control software for remote control and machine vision systems, and lead end-to-end integration across hardware, software, and networks. The ideal candidate has hands-on Embedded C, MATLAB/Simulink, RTOS, and multi-node system integration experience, with strong debugging skills and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of embedded software development using Embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink.
5+ years of RTOS-based real-time embedded systems experience.
3-5 years of hands-on system integration across multi-node systems.
Experience with CAN, J1939 and Ethernet networks.
Experience with diagnostic tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy embedded control software on RTOS platforms using Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
Perform end-to-end system integration across embedded software, ECUs, networks, and machine vision systems.
Integrate and troubleshoot CAN, J1939, and Ethernet communications.
Execute V&V using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
Use CANoe/CANalyzer and Wireshark for testing and diagnostics.
Diagnose system-level defects and perform root-cause analysis across hw/sw interfaces.
Troubleshoot on bench and in machines; support cross-functional teams on releases.
