Job summary

Cyient seeks an experienced embedded software engineer for real-time control systems in Irvine, CA. The role requires hands-on development in embedded C/C++ and expertise in system-level control logic, state machines, and hardware/software integration.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of embedded experience, proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Will work across hardware, firmware, and the overall system to deliver reliable real-time solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded real-time control software development.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and RTOS architecture.
• Design experience for system-level control logic, state machines and sequencing.
• Hands-on CAN (and derivatives), SPI, Ethernet communication protocols.
• Model-based design with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Ability to integrate and debug software across hardware, firmware and system.
• Strong analytical and system-level problem-solving skills.

• Background spanning motor control, BMS, or vehicle control systems
• Experience supporting production launch, field issues, and system-level validation
