Job summary

The Toro Company, headquartered in Bloomington, MN, seeks an experienced E4 Embedded Systems Engineer to own traction-control and drivetrain software across multiple machine programs. You will integrate third‑party controllers, apply real‑time control concepts, and validate performance on real equipment.

Candidates should have a strong background in embedded C/C++, CAN networks, and cross‑functional collaboration with systems, electrical, and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, Computer, Controls or related field.
• 7+ years of embedded software experience for controls or automotive/industrial systems.
• Experience integrating motor controllers and drivetrain electronics is preferred.
• Strong C/C++ and real-time software development skills.

Responsibilities

• Own embedded software and system integration for traction-control functions.
• Apply closed-loop control concepts, state machines, calibration, and real-time software.
• Lead integration of third-party motor controllers and drivetrain ECUs.
• Validate control behavior on machines using logs, tests, and bench work.
• Develop, tune, and release software for propulsion, speed, and fault responses.
