Job summary

Vortex Optics in Barneveld, WI is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer for our New Product Development team. You will develop PCB and electrical systems that integrate with our mechanical and software platforms, collaborating with project managers and engineers to create electronic solutions for our sport optics products.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, hands-on experience with embedded C/C++, CAD tools, and test equipment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs.
• Experience with USB/UART/SPI/I2C/CAN.
• Experience developing software using embedded frameworks and SDKs.
• Prior relevant experience.
• CAD design experience (Altium, SolidWorks PCB, OrCAD, KiCad, EAGLE).
• Experience with PWM.

Responsibilities

• Electrical circuit design and development.
• Develop and define product architecture(s).
• Lay out PCBs and develop electrical schematics.
• Electrical circuit verification.
• Module and system-level verification for specifications.
• Develop and improve device communication protocols.
• Program communication to various display technologies (LCD, micro-displays).
• Program embedded systems in C/C++.
• Design parts for manufacturability and cost reduction.
• Prototype electronic parts and PCBs.
• Develop embedded solutions for testing and prototyping consumer products.
• Other duties as assigned.
