Job summary

Vitesse Systems, LLC is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer II to join a multidisciplinary team creating advanced robotic systems and spaceflight-grade hardware. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot firmware and drivers for electromechanical devices, working closely with electrical engineers to bring up boards and test integration.

The role emphasizes hands-on debugging, documentation, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment, with ITAR/EAR compliance and travel as needed to support

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, CS, or related robotics field.
• 5+ years of firmware and embedded software experience in electromechanical hardware.
• Experience testing and deploying firmware in the field.
• Strong C++ and Python skills with good documentation.
• Proficient in C/C++, VHDL/Verilog on Linux; ability to read circuit diagrams.
• Experience with RTOS, ROS, and robotic systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Write firmware, drivers for embedded devices.
• Bring-up and integration of electromechanical systems and devices (motors, motor controllers, sensors).
• Support board bring-up, integration, and testing with electrical engineers.
• Translate hardware requirements into firmware/software requirements.
• Travel as required to support hardware assembly, testing.
• Other duties as assigned.
