Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies seeks an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to advance mission processing systems for space and military applications. You will work across embedded Linux, boot software, drivers, and FPFA logic, applying broad embedded-software practices on moderately complex assignments.

The role covers design, development, debugging, and integration, with collaboration across architects, system engineering, and test teams to ensure reliability and performance in high-stakes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working proficiency in C and C++ for embedded or systems level development.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, BSPs, bootloaders, device drivers, kernel integration, or board bring‑up.
• Ability to develop microcontroller firmware and interface with board‑level peripherals.
• Knowledge of source control, build systems, testing, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, debug, and maintain embedded software for mission processing systems.
• Develop and support embedded Linux platforms, bootloaders, BSPs, device drivers, and board bring‑up.
• Develop microcontroller firmware for power control, sequencing, monitoring, communications, and board management.
• Develop embedded applications, diagnostic utilities, manufacturing tools, and system test software.
• Participate in requirements development, design and code reviews, verification, documentation, and controlled releases.
• Collaborate with architects, system engineering and test engineering teams.
