Job summary

Katalyst builds spacecraft that rendezvous with, capture, and service other spacecraft. Our first vehicle is in orbit right now, with the flight software you would own guiding all subsystems, sensors, and radios.

We are seeking engineers who write modern C++ on Linux flight computers, with RTOS or embedded Linux experience. Onsite in Broomfield, CO; levels include Engineer, Senior, or Principal depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on C++ on real-time or resource-constrained systems (RTOS or embedded Linux).
• Experience closing changes from design through verification and deployment.
• Strong focus on fault-tolerant design and reliable software execution.

Responsibilities

• Own core flight software subsystems end to end: telemetry, command sequencing, fault detection, hardware interfaces, and radios.
• Write modern C++ on Linux flight computers; use Python where it speeds development; ensure memory-safe, thread-safe code.
• Review flight code, document handoffs, and mentor less experienced engineers toward shippable work.
• Diagnose anomalies from telemetry/logs and decide safe commands to implement.
• Defend design decisions to GNC, avionics, operations, and leadership with data.
