Job summary

Allient Inc. in Rochester, NY seeks an Embedded Software Integration & Verification Engineer to develop, integrate, and verify embedded software for motion control and industrial automation products. You will own deliverables and contribute to test frameworks and verification capabilities.

The role blends software development, test automation, and hands‑on hardware/software integration, with opportunities to lead reviews, improve pipelines, and grow into broader technical ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded software/firmware development, software integration, or automated verification.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or another language used for embedded development or test automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software, test tooling, and automation for product integration and verification.
• Develop and execute test procedures and automated tests for assigned features, including unit, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Implement test execution, data acquisition, pass/fail checks, performance measurements, and reporting.
• Integrate and debug embedded hardware, software, communications, sensors, actuators, and peripherals using diagnostic tools.
• Investigate software, protocol, timing, and system issues; document findings and verify resolutions of defects.
• Maintain version-controlled code, test configurations, and documentation; contribute to regression automation and pipelines.
• Collaborate with firmware, electrical, electromechanical, and product teams on integration, verification, and release activities.
• Own assigned deliverables from planning through completion: estimate effort, track progress, meet acceptance criteria, raise blockers promptly.
